BEER+BUBS HQ (DIRECTOR) – CARRINA HAMPTON
Carrina is the owner of Beer+Bubs across Australia. Carrina is a Doula and Childbirth Educator in addition to a Social Worker, Family Therapist and Clinical Hypnotherapist. As a birth mum of three (and step mum of three), Carrina’s passion for pregnancy and birth began as a personal one before she added this to her professional repertoire. She is passionate about the role of men in all aspects of family life, and see’s pregnancy and birth as the ultimate time to engage men in their important roles within the growing family.
SYDNEY – VIRGINIA MADDOCK
Virginia is a doula, herbalist, nutritionist and a mother of two. She loves supporting couples throughout their journeys to parenthood and also spends much of her spare time volunteering in various roles for Homebirth Access Sydney. Virginia is so excited to help men learn how to support their women with confidence during the birth of their babies. She’s a long–time resident of the Shire.
Tani and Jy were young parents, ‘winging it’ and had four beautiful daughters in under 7 years. Now days Tani is a midwife, and Jy a jack-of-all trades who is now adding childbirth education to his tool belt. Together they bring Beer+Bubs to supporting partners with evidence-based education, personal experience and fun.
Tracey is a mother of four sons. She is a childbirth educator and calmbirth facilitator who has supported hundreds of couples preparing for birth and parenting. She believes that when a woman feels safe, loved and supported, then birth seems to go much better. Who better to do that, than her partner!
Jane is a midwife and mother of 4 sons. Jane knows well how men can enrich women’s birthing experiences. She is very excited to have the opportunity to assist men understand how important they are in the birthing environment and appreciate the difference they can make.
Erika is a birth educator, doula, life coach and group facilitator who is passionate about helping people to create their best transition into life as a parent. Having supported hundreds of families through their labours she knows some planning and preparing will help you experience this time of your life in a joyful and empowering way.
HOBART – RON HASTIE
Ron is an ex-brickie and barman with twenty years experience as a midwife. He has been catching babies at Royal Hobart Hospital since 1995 and is in the Know Your Midwife scheme there. He is the first bloke to join the Beer + Bubs team but in his own words, he’s used to being one of the girls.
ADELAIDE – ERIN BLACK
Erin is an enamoured wife and mother of two wildlings rising on the coast in Adelaide. Erin is a birth and postnatal doula, group facilitator and placenta encapsulator. She feels that men are too often disregarded in the birth space but knows just how much of a positive impact they can have on the collective birth experience given adequate preparation. She is passionate about sharing the tools that enable men to confidently support their partners during the amazing journey into parenthood – whether that’s for the first or seventh time.
ADELAIDE – SOPHIE MERCHANT
Sophie is a doula, wife and mum of two beautiful girls. She was born and raised in the Adelaide Hills and now lives closer to the city with her family. She is passionate about all things birth and babies, and loves seeing couples work together to bring their babies into the world; with a confident start to their parenting journey. She believes dads are an integral part of the birthing process and looks forward to working with Erin Black to bring the Beer+Bubs message to dads of Adelaide.
Kelly is a birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, Certified Becoming Us™ Facilitator and a Mum of 2. She loves working with expectant parents to empower and prepare for them for birth, and creating a family. She understands the huge impact that pregnancy and birth can have on a couple’s relationship, and how both parents experience at birth can be life changing (in an amazing way).
BUNBURY – CARRINA HAMPTON
Carrina is a Clinical Social Worker and Childbirth Educator/Doula who is passionate about all things family! At work Carrina promotes individual, family and community wellbeing, including 4MEN programs supporting the development of boys and men. At home she is mum to 5 gorgeous girls and 1 spectacular boy. As the National Owner of Beer+Bubs, they love delivering these sessions to a room full of fellas eager to be Dads!
BRISBANE – KYRA MORRIS
Kyra’s journey into midwifery and child health began 18 years ago with the birth of her first child. The experience of empowerment and wholeness evoked her passion for birth, motherhood and family. Kyra has worked in both public and private maternity healthcare for the past 7 years and has developed professional relationships with maternity consumer groups, community health and private practitioners. Kyra aims to provide current, holistic support to families.
Tracey is a midwife, a birth educator and mum to 4 wonderful children. Tracey has developed a keen interest in ensuring dads have the right tools and preparation for birth as she has seen first hand in both her personal and professional experience, what a positive difference a well prepared dad can make. When dads are engaged and informed, the birthing couple can work so well as a team to create a truly special experience welcoming their baby into the world and transitioning to their important role as parents. Tracey is very excited about bringing Beer and Bubs to the Sunshine Coast and looking forward to meeting many expecting dads on their parenting journeys.
TOOWOOMBA – REBECCA CONNOLLY
Rebecca is a Registered Nurse with Child and Adolescent Health qualifications and a keen interest in all things birth, babies and parenting. She is a mother to a baby girl and is passionate about making birth a normal but powerful and transformative event. Her husband attended a Beer + Bubs in Canberra and the skills he learnt made him an incredible support during the birth of their daughter. Rebecca wants to share that knowledge and make men confident to get off the sidelines and in the action at the birth of their baby.
